Job Description

1) Source new vendors and negotiate vendor partnerships while working to improve profitability and lead times.
2) Collaborate with inventory planners to ensure timely flow of goods.
3) Analyze current business trends and execute decisions based on the outcome of that analysis.
4) Maintain an awareness of trends in the marketplace and expand assortment in response
5) Establish and maintain vendor partnerships while executing negotiation strategies relative to product costs, terms and shipping / return issues while maximizing margin opportunities
6) Sourcing from foreign markets.
7) Testing product samples.
8) Developing the procurement strategy.
9) Negotiating commercial contract arrangements with suppliers.
10) Negotiating prices, quantities and delivery time-scales.
11) Sourcing suppliers by various means.
12) Selecting a range of products to sell in retail outlets.
13) Writing reports about predicted future sales.
14) Ensuring that products are delivered on time.
15) Calculating the impact of any purchases on company sales and gross margin.
16) Searching the market for opportunistic purchases.
17) Taking into account customer demand, price, quality and availability before making a decision.
18) Buying from designers and brand owners all over the world.
19) Looking out for price fluctuations in the market place.
20) Creating, viewing and analyzing statistical data.
21) Analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends.
22) Writing up accurate buying reports.
23) Reacting to any changes in customer demand.
24) Developing effective working relationships with our suppliers.
