Job Description
Primary Responsibilities Supervising and managing the below
-Manage teams performing various processes which are critical operations in Cash area for USD & EURO Processing, Totowa Operations, Cheque Processing, Static Data Maintenance.
-To handle TSS Payments Processing of the bank AG, London in UK Hours.
-Manage staff ( close to 50 FTE) on a daily basis, distribute work, assign responsibilities, ensure appropriate staff motivation levels and continuous learning
-Keep all operational guidelines updated and ensure adherence to standards, procedures and also identify risk mitigants wherever there is a control issue
-Conduct regular operational performance reviews and participate in monthly self assessments
-Effectively manage risk and foster an environment where team is fully aware of Operational Risk management.
-Develop relationship and credibility with sending location and all internal stakeholders
-Work closely with other internal teams on upcoming projects, assignments and initiatives
-Ensure performance of staff meet or exceed expectations
-Participate in cross process initiatives which are formulated to create or improve existing processes
-Cross train available resources to ensure 100% backup within the areas under control
-Escalate all issues properly, in time, to the appropriate level, to avoid any adverse impact on the business
-Assisting the team in decision making and taking complete ownership of the situation
Primary Working Relationships
The AVP will report to Vice President Cash Operations
The position interfaces with other managers, AVPs, SPEs, Relationship managers and sending location partners
Requirements
7-9 years of Banking experience of which 4 years (min) at a managerial level or 5 years of experience for candidates with CA qualification / Post graduation degree from a reputed business school
-Solid technical understanding of the business and Cash Operations is expected including strong knowledge of sanctions and embargo filtering
-Knowledge and hands on experience in SWIFT Payments like MT103, MT202 is preferable.
-Experience in delivering Six sigma green belt projects
-Understand the sensitiveness of embargo filtering and regulatory requirements
-subject Matter expertise in Payments processing and knowledge of clearing systems like CHIPS, FED, TARGET, EBA etc.
-Banking Process Migrations expertise
-Computer proficiency and ability to utilize IT initiatives to achieve a high degree of operational efficiency, optimize costs and add value to the service provided
-Effective written and spoken communication skills
-Innovative approach to work and continuously identify and implement process improvements
-Seek opportunities to improve service processes, minimize operational risk and reduce costs
-Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment and solid people management skills
-Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
-Effective decision making and leadership skills
– Strong awareness of risk control
– To be based in Bangalore and prepared to travel as required
– Must be prepared to work in a shift in line with regions supported
