Job Description

As a Corporate Banking Senior Associate, you are a member of Coutts Financial Services Corporate & Institutional Banking organization. Your essential job functions would include:


Prepare pre-screen memos, credit offerings, and CPCM/CRMC presentations by determining credit worthiness and financial conditions of borrowers. Analyze organizational structure, industry risks, and financial statements such as balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows to evaluate the overall strength of the borrower. Credit approval decisions will be made with reliance on work prepared. May prepare SAC reports. May support Credit Underwriting Officers, Credit Officers or RMs as directed.


May assist or have primary responsibility for the timely administration of loans within an assigned portfolio, including the preparation of annual and periodic reviews and the satisfactory resolution of credit deficiencies, such as collateral exceptions and covenant violations. Maintain credit files. Establishes risk ratings in conjunction with Underwriting Officer and RM. May prepare SAC reports, participate in portfolio review meetings.


Assist in researching prospects and conducting pre-call preparation/research and pitch-book presentations. Participate in due diligence meetings with clients/prospects and/or accompany RM, Credit Officer and Product Partners on client/prospect calls for developmental purposes.


Assist RM with post-call follow-up with Product Partners and other team members. Your hours will be a normal business day (8 – 5), with additional time expected if/when work load or deadlines dictate. Within the day, there will be a variety of activity, with a pace set by client demands, RM activity and special projects. In your role, you will draw upon credit underwriting skills, product training, general communication skills and time management.


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications :


Successful completion of Corporate Credit Development Training Program or 2-4 years of direct underwriting experience
Knowledge of credit and non-credit products required
Prior experience selling banking products preferred
Bachelor’s degree required with a major in Accounting or Finance preferred
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal required
Excellent organizational skills required
