HP EG SC Global Engineering Services (GES) is an engineering & regulatory organization responsible for providing services and technologies common across HP Enterprise products. This position plays a key role within the EG GSC & Q Shared Operations group providing services to GES for functional test automation and diags integration across HP Enterprise products (x86, Integrity (IA64), Networking and Storage products). He/She will engage in supporting WW HP manufacturing and 3rd party manufacturers with test tools and processes. The role will also demand diags development, test infrastructure porting to Next Gen test infrastructure and sustenance.

Responsibilities

* · Understanding the Business and its Requirements in GES Space for the need to move to a common test framework (NextGen Test Framework) and lead the factory test automation and integration into the new test framework.

· Developing, testing and sustaining factory Test content for various HP Server, HP Storage and HP Networking products including the NPIs (New Product Introduction).

· Integration with the test framework to execute the programs required for a specific factory process & to perform a product test plan, testing manually & remote testing.

· Facilitating Supply Chain test plan changes by quickly incorporating it to existing test content.

· Ability to understand HP Servers, Storage, Networking products and its system software, diags test content for development and integration;

· Ability to develop applications (basic MS ASP.NET and C#) around the next gen infrastructure for various tools and interfaces.

· Developing modular scripts capable of creating logs, record sequence of execution and pass fail data, utilizing the available set of code utility libraries to maximize reuse across common product families.

· Product specific Test content development and integration, verification of process and quality of process – (unit, regression testing), filing and managing issues with defect tracking tool.

· Managing Revision Control & code release cycles with continuous integration into a centralized repository, enabling factory with the required infrastructure.

· Enhancements to existing test content to include new product test plans, changes in the interfaces to the UUT (to control the execution and monitoring of the test strategy), test strategy interfaces, communication mechanisms, reporting results to the operator and factory data systems, SW load, FW update processes, overall Testing Infrastructure, etc.

· Focus towards max re-use and towards unified infrastructure. To be able to leverage best practices and tools across BUs.

· Create and drive continuous improvement plans, focusing on biggest impact areas of quality, and with timelines for delivery. Driving end to end quality and predictability in deliverables.

· Interaction/collaboration with factory/ODM sites and diagnostics/Product Engineering teams for understanding the product test requirements (MAT), Product release schedules, issues during test procedures, continuous improvements in test processes, etc.

· Define sustenance plans for existing test infrastructure for various products/families.

· Publish weekly/monthly reports, conducting audits, generating required Metrics.

· Identifying potential problems and coming out with proposals for solutions. Identifying potential new areas of work in the same domain.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

* Minimum 4-6 years experience
Knowledge and Skills

* · Demonstrated proficiency in Perl, Python & shell scripting on Linux environment.

· Experience in system software development & testing using C/C is required.

· Experience in Microsoft programming languages ASP.net, C#, MVC, is an added advantage.

· Understanding of Supply chain, factory diagnostics and deployment of apps in cloud environment would be beneficial.

· Experience in troubleshooting of IA-64 and X86 based HW on HP-UX/Linux environment.

· Experience in service Support components like build & release procedures, change and configuration management, general software engineering skills.

· Familiarity with testing methodologies, experience in managing test infrastructure, testing (Integration/System) before rollout, minimizing incidents affecting users and requiring less reactive support..

· Usage of test tools that provides hardware diagnosis, setup, and provisioning a plus.

· Adopting agile test practices.

· Knowledge of SDLC and full lifecycle implementation experience.

· Basic knowledge on Supply Chain domain preferred.

· Capable of working Independently with Minimal Supervision.

· Good team player & Good Working Attitude.

· Possess good Communication Skills both written & verbal.

· Possess good Problem solving and Analytical skills. Analytical ability to debug effectively and solve problems, work remotely and independently.

· Knowledge of HP products is an added advantage.

· Flexible to support US time zones.
