A current opportunity exists for an early career/graduate Presales Infrastructure Architect to join HP for a SEA Storage TSR – Inside Sales Role. This role will be focussed on assisting our EG Inside Sales Team to increase competence and knowledge of HP Storage.


The right candidate for this role is will have a technical background with a flair and desire for a career in sales.


You will possess the ability to communicate business benefits of HP Storage to your colleagues and customers. You excel in IT infrastructure knowledge, especially data storage and the pivotal role it plays. You will also have technical consulting or presales knowledge, presenting solutions both in-person and through webinars. You are engaging and possess the ability to gain credibility with your target audience quickly.


Your duties will typically involve the following:


o  To provide HP Storage subject matter expertise to Inside Sales Call Centre Team who are EG Generalists


o  To increase HP Storage productivity in Call Centre


o  To elevate HP Storage base knowledge within Inside Sales Team


o  To promote HP Storage attach to both HPS and HPN


o  Provide logical storage ‘fit’ to HP Servers opportunities


o  To provide logical storage ‘fit” to HP Networking opportunities


o  To work with HP Storage RBU to craft monthly call scripts


o  To provide routine storage training to Inside Sales Team; in conjunction with Field Sales Enablement and HP Storage RBU


o  Participates in development of HP Storage Inside Sales training programs by identifying learning issues; recommending instructional language.


o  Provides technical support to Inside Sales by researching and answering questions; troubleshooting problems; and guiding through corrective steps.


o  Work as part of the Call Centre Sales team to identify and analyse customer needs


o  Architect an appropriate storage solution to meet the customer’s business requirements


o  Anticipate and plan for competitive threats


o  Advance opportunities through the use of effective consultative selling techniques


o  Build peer loyalty through being a trusted advisor


o  Communicate and articulate the details of their component roles in a proposed customer solution


o  Actively support the account team with solution advice, proposals, and presentations.


o  Analyse and provides support to deals in the pipeline where needed


It is expected that you will possess the following:


o  A Bachelor’s degree – Information Technology ideally with 1-2 experience in a technical role


o  Personality Traits: Problem Solving, Storage and LAN Knowledge, Help Desk Experience, Verbal Communication, Operating Systems, Phone Skills, Customer Service, Quality Focus, PC Proficiency, System Administration, UNIX System Administration


o  Strong practical experience with DAS, SAN and NAS solutions Preferably has had work experience in a Data Storage Company


o  Capability to leverage resources to conduct small group on-the-job training workshops to constantly build and improve Call Centre knowledge of HP Storage.


o  Leverages strong understanding of the competition – both positioning strategy and technology – to create competitive advantage for HP Storage


o  Solid understanding of a subset of the following technical categories:


Operating Systems (Windows Server & Linux Server)


Server Virtualization Solutions (VMware, Citrix or Microsoft)


x86 hardware (Servers, Blades)


Storage Area Networks (iSCSI, Fiber Channel or NAS)


Local Area Networking (TCP/IP, Switches, Routers)


Applications like Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint


Experience with Databases (Oracle & SQL)


Business Continuity/High Availability


o  Excellent communications skills (verbal and written).


o  Strong interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic, self-starter


o  Very good presentation and facilitation skills


o  Proven ability to create and deliver presentations both in person and online.

*Education and Experience Required: *


* Two year university/Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.


* Typically 3 years of experience in related field, preferable in IT.


* Direct experience interacting with customers (i.e., Technical, Administrative, or Call Center roles)


*Knowledge and Skills Required:*


* Solid telesales skills.


* Listens to customer needs and tailors messages to customers based on their needs and ties-in additional promotional campaigns, upgrades, or extended products/services.


* Must be a team player and juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities.


* Must be able to apply subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommend appropriate alternatives.


* Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.


* Exhibits knowledge of HP portfolio of products or capacity to learn and utilize product resources to meet job requirements.


* With management guidance, proactively contacts and sells products/services and completes lead follow-up with assigned area of responsibility.


* Consistently meets or exceeds metrics related to outbound calls, open pipeline opportunities, and closed won revenue set by segment management.


* Knows and understands HP’s sales tools and processes
