Sustainability Engineer (Other)

Job Description

Responsible to analyze various factors concerning a construction job.
Roles and Responsibilities
The candidate will be able to work on and eventually manage a wide range projects at various scales.
Identify appropriate and effective sustainable design and/ or LEED strategies
Participate and eventually lead sustainability charrettes and/ or LEED meetings, and interact with clients as a primary
BH contact for the sustainability/LEED scope of work
Assist design and engineering teams with sustainable design strategies and technologies for buildings and sites
Present in-depth knowledge of LEED certification programs; Specific knowledge of other green building certification programs such as Living Building Challenge (LBC) and Passive House is a plus
Entire LEED certification documentation process
Perform technical analysis in calculations and research as needed to support proof of concept, energy optimization, carbon analysis, daylight and shading design, simulations, water balance modeling, materials recommendations, and drawing and specification review
Coordinate with / support various internal and external team members, including energy modelers, MEP, civil engineers, general contractor, etc.
Conduct product and technology research related to sustainability, green building standards, and local and federal regulations applicable to projects
Effectively communicate environmental certification program requirements and progress to project teams
Efficiently transition into additional responsibilities as needed; these might include support for project deadlines and document production in MEP, Facades, Lighting and/or Energy Analysis

Experience:

3-5 years experience in Construction industry

Competency Skills :

Good leadership qualities, good communication and interpersonal skills
